The Program is designed to prepare students for employment in most pharmacy settings, ranging from community and hospital pharmacy to home health pharmacy.
Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies of a Pharmacy Technician typically include:
- Compounding sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals
- Utilizing and maintaining various types of pharmacy technology
- Performing Pharmaceutical calculation
- Packaging and re-packing medication
- Prepare and maintain prescription orders
- Provide useful customer service
- Maintain Patient confidentiality
Distribute and deliver medications to patients
This course prepares the student for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board national certification exam

This program prepares students to assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medication in retail and hospital pharmacies as well as collecting patient info for prescription and billing. This program is aligned with the PTCB national certification exam.
